Renovations in Viladecans
Viladecans is, above all, a town of flats. If yours still has a separate kitchen and you are unsure about opening it to the living room, A.BEC can look at it with you. We travel from Vilafranca del Penedès, so tell us what you want to change.

What we can do for your home
First, find out what the wall is
In a block of flats, the kitchen wall may be a plain partition or hide a column, a soil stack or pipes. We check during the visit and, where needed, with a qualified professional. Removing it changes the layout, and Viladecans Town Council treats work that alters it differently from work that keeps it: worth asking early.
Cooking smells, the sink and room to move
In an open kitchen, cooking smells reach the sofa, so we talk early about the extractor and where it vents. Moving the vent needs checking with the community of owners and the Council. Keep the sink and dishwasher near the existing waste pipe. Island or peninsula depends on the width left with oven and dishwasher doors open.
One floor, or a half-open kitchen
Remove the partition and you find two different floors, sometimes with a slight step, and a strip where the wall stood. We can lay one floor throughout or let the change of material fall under the peninsula. If you cook a lot, a glazed screen or serving hatch may suit you better: more light, and a door to shut when frying.
WE KNOW YOU HAVE QUESTIONS
Before your renovation begins.
Can the wall between the kitchen and living room be removed?
Often yes, but first we need to establish what that wall is and which pipes or cables run through it. We check during the visit and, if in doubt, with a qualified professional. If it is best left alone, we suggest other ways to connect the two rooms.
Do I have to replace all the flooring when opening the kitchen?
Not always. It depends on whether the two floors sit at the same height, their condition and whether you want the living area to read as one space. Sometimes a neat junction between the two is enough; sometimes redoing it all together makes more sense.
Do you renovate kitchens in Viladecans?
Yes, we travel from Vilafranca del Penedès. We consider each kitchen according to what opening it involves and where the flat is. Send photos of the kitchen and living room, rough measurements and what you would like to change, and Abel will explain the next step.
