What we can do for your home
Refresh, partial or full renovation
A refresh changes what you can see: paint, flooring, doors. It works if the kitchen, bathrooms, wiring and plumbing are sound. A partial renovation goes into the kitchen or bathrooms and renews their pipes, drains and circuits. A full renovation is for when you want to move walls, or when the electrics and plumbing are original throughout the home.
What is not worth doing by halves
New tiles with the original pipes left behind them, wood flooring laid before deciding whether a wall comes down, fresh paint before chasing in extra sockets: savings like these are paid for twice. At the visit we look at the consumer unit, stopcocks and drains, and ask how long you expect to stay. If you have just bought and do not know what earlier owners did, tell us.

What is the difference between a partial and a full renovation?
A partial renovation completely renews one or more rooms, usually the kitchen or bathrooms with their plumbing and electrics, and leaves the rest as it is. A full renovation covers the whole home: layout, wiring, plumbing and finishes in a single job. If you are unsure, the condition of the wiring and pipes usually decides it.

It depends on the town and on what the work involves. Each town council has its own procedure, and interior work that leaves the layout alone is not treated the same as work that moves walls or affects the structure. It is worth checking with yours once we know the level of renovation.
