We also plan for breakages: taps and switches from standard ranges, and a few spare boxes of the same tile left in the flat, so whoever looks after it can have one piece replaced without redoing the wall.

Changeover days leave only a few hours for cleaning, so every awkward corner matters. A level-access shower tray with a simple screen, wall-hung units, a worktop with no joints beside the sink. On the floor, a surface that copes with sand and suitcase wheels. And enough sockets in the bedrooms and living room that nobody needs an extension lead.
Fitting the work into the months without bookings
Salou Town Council shortens permitted working hours between June and mid-September and may suspend building work in summer; check the current conditions on its online office. So the work belongs in the months without bookings. To make it fit, we agree materials and scope with you before starting, using photos, samples and messages if you are abroad. Every decision left open during the work costs days.

Which materials suit a holiday-let flat?
Those that stand up to heavy use, clean quickly and can be replaced: porcelain tiles for floors and bathrooms, washable paint, low-porosity worktops and taps from standard ranges. Keeping a few spare tiles from the same batch means a knock can be repaired without retiling the wall. We adapt the choice to your flat and budget at the visit.
When is the best time to do the work?
Out of season, in the months when the flat has no bookings. Contact us well ahead: a visit, a quote and material choices come first, and dates are agreed once the scope is defined. Bear in mind that Salou Town Council restricts building work hours in summer.
