What a visit shows, and what it cannot
During the visit we measure up and check what is visible: the consumer unit, stopcocks, accessible waste pipes, damp, tiles and floors. That tells us a good deal, whether it is a 1970s flat or an older building inside the Tomb de Ravals, the old centre. It does not tell us the condition of a pipe buried in the wall, what a partition is made of inside or what lies under the flooring. That only becomes clear once things are opened up.
A quote that says what is conditional
We prepare the proposal from what could be checked and mark the items that depend on what we find: for example, whether a wall will take new tiles as it stands or needs making good first, or whether a run of pipework can be kept. You then know from the outset where the figure could move, and why. Invoices or photos from earlier work on the flat help narrow those unknowns, which is worth asking for if you bought the property recently.
If something turns up, we stop and decide with you
When something unplanned appears, we pause that part of the job, explain what we have found and the options, and cost each one. We carry on once it is agreed with you; if you will be away from Reus, tell us beforehand how best to reach you. If the change widens the scope, it is worth checking that what was notified to Reus Town Council, which has several prior-notification routes depending on the work, still covers it. The same applies if the building is one of the city’s listed properties.

What happens if a problem appears that was not in the quote?
We explain it to you and cost it separately; nothing extra is carried out without your agreement. We pause that part of the work, go through the options with you and continue once you have decided. Work that does not depend on it can usually carry on in the meantime.
Can the price be fixed before work starts?
The price can be agreed for the work that is defined after the visit. What sits behind walls, floors and ceilings cannot be checked until it is opened, so the quote states which items depend on that condition. The more scope and materials are settled beforehand, the fewer items stay open.
Do you travel to Reus for renovation work?
Yes, depending on the project’s scope and our availability. We work from Vilafranca del Penedès, so a whole flat, or a kitchen and bathrooms together, suits us better in Reus than a one-off repair.
