What goes on each floor
We start with your day: where you cook and sleep, and who uses the stairs most. A former ground-floor storeroom or wine store can become a kitchen-diner, or stay as hall and utility room if you live upstairs. That settles whether you need a bathroom on every floor, or just a downstairs cloakroom and one by the bedrooms.
Water, waste and electrics between floors
Plumbing and wiring have to climb between floors. Ideally bathrooms sit one above the other, near the soil stack, so waste pipes get a good fall and a short run. Pipes and cables run up an accessible duct, each in its own conduit, and each floor has its own circuits, so one can be switched off without affecting the rest.
The staircase sets the order of work
Materials go up the stairs and rubble comes down, so they are protected first and finished last. We work from the top floor down to keep off finished surfaces. Moving the stairs or altering a floor structure needs an architect and a different application from interior work: ask Sant Sadurní Town Council which one applies.

Can a bathroom be added on the upper floor?
Often yes, provided the waste pipe can reach the soil stack with enough fall. We check where the bathroom or kitchen below sits and where the stack runs. If the new bathroom ends up above or beside it, the job is simpler.
Is it better to renovate floor by floor or all at once?
With the house empty, all at once: pipes and cables are then run only once. If you live there, we can work one floor at a time and keep another usable, with the vertical runs for water, waste and electrics done in the first phase.
